NYT on Philosophy Majors

Don't miss this bit from the New York Times about the surging popularity of philosophy as an undergraduate major.

The story ends with a quotation from a 20 year-old saying that she has found male philosophy majors to be "interesting and sensitive." She continues: “That whole deep existential torment” is “good for getting girlfriends.”

That's why I majored in philosophy.

Yeah. When I coalesce the vapors of human existence into a viable and meaningful comprehension, there's never a dry seat left in the house.

And let's not forget how much the young ladies love logic. I once charmed the pants off a beautiful bartender using nothing more than modus tollens and De Morgan's Theorem. Oh yeah... it was hot.

BTW: Nice appropriation of Spinal Tap's "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You (Tonight)" there.

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the "box of oppostion" yet...
