I just bought a flight to Chicago for November 4. Obama has scheduled an Election Night event (they hope celebration) in Grant Park. Am I being too optimistic?

No, you're not being too optimistic. Being too optimistic -- to the point of being delusional -- would've been booking a flight to Chicago for a Cubs Win the World Series celebration.
