Richard Posner is quite impressive in this regard, cranking out stuff that must be counted in reschers (5 books = 1 rescher?), all the while as an appeals court judge and teaching at Chicago. Not that I'd want him elevated to the S.Ct., but he's a machine...
Given how old Stevens is, who'll get to make the next appointment is crucial.
