NSFW Philosophy Page

I've been sitting on this link for a while, deliberating about whether to do a post about it. Then, a few days ago, someone sent it to me with the suggestion that I post it. So here goes...

Important: The link I am about to provide carries one to a site that not only contains but is saturated with pornographic images. So it's definitely NSFW. And if you're offended by pornographic images, simply don't follow the link below.

Yet this site is so bizarre in its combination of porn, vulgarity, and somewhat serious philosophy that I can't help but call attention to it. Puzzling awesome kookery. Genius?

Anyway, this guy is my write-in candidate for all future APA elections.

I wondered if anyone googled his name before admitting him to grad school.

What does one do after translating Adorno's Against Epistemology (http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?tid=9476&ttype=2)?

What kind of fuckery is this? The crazy and brilliant kind, apparently. Though I have not completely scoured the site, I'll be amazed if anything can top
the ontological disproof of god's existence
.

Jeez, it's not even interesting porn! Maybe something less boring than vanilla T&A would distract too much from his insightful commentary? Consider my write-in APA vote lost, Willis Domingo!

The vanilla "pin-up" porn gets the guy points methinks. All the more unintelligible and kooky.

So, that's what 'NSFW' means. Woops. Apparently the guy doesn't like Plantinga or Ayer. Glaucon, I think his discussion of Plantinga's work is amazing. A taste:
"Only a fool or a liar will tell you he can make your crops grow using words alone. I don’t know which one Plantinga is – probably both. His avowed project is to revive the art of those itinerant mediaeval necromancers (They called themselves “monks” or “theologians”) who mumbo-jumboed a little lingo latino from their palimpsest and conjured up God right in front of the toothless masses.

In The Nature of Necessity, a book that can most charitably be described as a waste of good paper, Plantinga promises us that he’s going to pull a few latino phrases from his Book of Necromancy and make God appear right before our eyes."

p.s., FemPhil,
Agreed that that is really boring porn, but that makes it so much more interesting.

Who cares who John Galt is, who is Willis Domingo?

Not someone to pose for, apparently.

The Marquis de Sade alternated philosophy with porn. Why shouldn't we. (They tell me its illegal to ask your students to pose, but I'm certainly not going to ask my colleagues!)

Mysterium pudendum et fascinans.

(Three decades ago I thought that was clever.)

If one (especially if male) is gazing just below the navel--the mirror that would be extremely convex--and in that sense is the ultimate carnival house of mirrors--objects and maybe even subjects are bigger than they really are. Except the mirror that is.

Clever is as clever does, no?

Don't know who he is exactly, but he gets pwned pretty good here:

Looking forward to seeing the same on the APA website, printed materials, even at the December conference... At least SOMETHING 'd be less frustrating.

That's wickedly funny. I'm curious as to the rationale behind the transition from the first link to the second.

Thank you for introducing me to the joy of Willis Domingo.
