Flights and Hotel

Don't trust the online "flight status" sites, even the ones hosted by your airline. I just called the carrier I booked and was told flat-out that there will be no flights going into or out of Boston for most of the day tomorrow (possibly all of the day tomorrow). If you have a connection in any airport on the East coast, be sure to check whether it's even open. I note that JFK is now closed, which is an accomplishment.

I called the Boston Marriott and canceled my room reservation. It was made clear to me that they were dealing with a high volume of cancellations. Apparently you must cancel before 6pm tomorrow (Monday) to avoid charges. That seems reasonable enough.

If you make it to Boston, please feel free to share your observations here.

And Doom and Justice is cancelled as well? Couldn't you deputize one of your minions already in Boston to summon the requisite forces? I'll be looking for the sign and will have with me some very special libations.

I'm wondering if the APA will return pre-registration fees. I mean, that would be the right thing to do. I bet that will go smoothly.

Wait..what am I thinking? .I've been drinking all night. I've gotten all JUST 'n stuff.

If they don't return the pre-registration fees, perhaps they could the money to invest in a copy of The Internet for Dummies, so they can learn how to use it properly. Really? No one can figure out how to post any message on the APA website

Weather Update: Downtown Boston is a slushy mess in the wake of snow removal efforts. Visibility is quite poor, so I expect continued flight delays. The highways seem fine at this point in time.

Placement Services: The APA placement service desk is open and some schools conducting interviews have checked in. However, there are also several cancellations posted on the bulletin board.

I spoke to someone at the registration desk and suggested posting an informative status update regarding placement/sessions/etc. on the APA website.
