Brooks Blog Posse

Brooks Blog has a posse...

Hopefully the promised new blog will show up soon. And hopefully it will be more frequently devoted to DOOM and crankiness.

Spiros: what do you think of Brooks' "suspicion ... that the days of lone bloggers is coming to an end"? Please don't ever join a group blog Spiros!

PA: This is very, very kind of you. Thank you very much!!

Group blogs have many advantages. More content and larger readership are often two. They can cover more perspectives and generate more traffic. There was a time when most blogging was by we "lone wolves" (so to speak), but not anymore. I count myself lucky to have started when I did because I doubt the blog would have had half the attention it receives now - about 500ish hits per day - if I launched it in 2012 instead of 2006. Moreover, the main original purpose of the Brooks Blog - a website to host drafts of new work - has passed with my new website http://thombrooks.info

I strongly recommend blogging as a great way to become better known in the profession. It has been invaluable to me and my work. There are heavy costs in writing regular blog posts, editing a journal, and keeping on top of many other commitments hence my bowing out after six years. But others should join in the fun if they haven't already. Something may often be better than nothing.

Whenever stuck for ideas, Philosophers Anonymous is the perfect place to help see the world in a much different (and more entertaining) light. The "king" may be gone, but the reign of Emperor Spiros continues...
