But isn't it important my colleagues recognize that all good ideas raised during department meetings are really mine and that, although others sometimes make worthwhile contributions, they require the elaboration of my keen intellect to truly come to fruition?
You know PA might be on to something here. I mean let's face it, the person who comes up with all the good ideas in department meetings, i.e., me, ought to be recognized fully for their contributions. Other faculty members provide valuable support sure and do provide me with a constructive forum to articulate my ideas and polish them into a positive plan of action. So yes PA I really do agree that it is important my collagues must recognize the keen power of my intellectual ability to get the right sort of points across to the rest of the faculty in department meetings.
Observations from an old cranky jerk who happens to be a professional philosopher. Occasionally philosophical, most often just vulgar. Sometimes focused on sober points of logic and issues in political theory, but more frequently fixed on nonsense. Bad metal bands, crappy guitarists, stupid lyrics, celebrities, pop "culture," telemarketers, irrationality, and other annoyances. Always misanthropic. Anti-religious. Not particularly amusing, either. Some might say insulting. Strange mail. Kook magnet. Doom. Comments from other cranky jerks, young and old.

Fuck you! So what if I agree with our colleague!

spiros hates colleagues agreeing with him.

I'm glad PA and 12:52 agree with my idea. Yes, that's right, I came up with it first. Just sayin'.
