Looks Promising, But...
The APA has recently posted an update about the new JFP website, which is set to launch on October1. The screen captures make the whole endeavor look very promising, and I'd like my skepticism to be proven misplaced, but... I'm nonetheless skeptical. I'll believe it's not a total disaster once the thing is up and running continuously for more than a day.

Much too little much too late.
Has the APA provided us with any grounds/good reasons to trust them with anything? Maybe, maybe if, per impossible, every year, the APA had regularly made numerous improvements and actually provided the changes that members called for and were promised year after year but never saw the light of day...
Why in the world should anyone give this a serious chance with the alternatives already provided in the recent Leiter thread (with Math departments as an example of the service used and advocated by Princeton faculty and others)...
It is no surprise that a dying backwards organization will try to save itself. What is or would be a surprise is if all the victims of the bad practices of such backwards organizations gave them a chance when nuch better alternatives exist...
Yes, it looks like it will be an improvement. And yes, it's wise to be a bit skeptical until it's actually up.
If by "the APA" 7:02 means its administrative staff, then keep in mind that "the APA" used to be David Schrader, who did not do a good job with the website, and is now Amy Ferrer, who seems to be quite a bit better. If not, I don't know who s/he means.
Does anyone know whether the free 1 year APA interfolio account can be used to cover the annual fee for an existing interfolio account?
I would ask the APA 10:10am
